Thanks to your theme, this week has been fascinating. No matter what city you live in, the chances are that you walk around completely oblivious to the unique stories surrounding you.

Dear New York,

Those are some stunning photos - really working with the theme. I do love the black and white one - really shows the contrast between old and new New York. Looks great in black and white to!

So last week, I went and had a bit of an explore of some of the hidden history of London, by walking and visiting 3 different (slightly morbid) places - each with their own stories, myths and history (so prepare for a bit of a photo dump!).

This week has been filled with classic Summer specific NYC experiences, so not on the cards for you and Marcelina when you visit in October but no worries, New York has plenty to offer in the Fall (including comfortable weather). It was Labor Day weekend, a holiday, from what I can gather, to celebrate the working masses... by having a day off work. Apparently, most New Yorkers leave the city, but Ed and I remained, in order to experience it for the first time.

Although we moved out here in May, August is the 1st official month of my living here (my visa says it, so it’s official, I don’t know if you knew but Facebook isn’t the official decider here) and I have learnt a lot in August.

In kind, something I have watched a lot of, and I thought might be of interest (especially after your comment about the importance of having a plan, and it sucking when the equipment isn’t right for the job) is this series called “Pro Photographer, Cheap Camera”.
